Altoona, PA (January 15, 2024) – Today marks the launch of Gloria Gates CARE, a new standard of healthcare dedicated to empowering Medicaid patients through a revolutionary whole-person approach.

Gloria Gates CARE was co-founded by Dr. Zane Gates, a pharmacist and internal medicine specialist with decades of experience, along with serial entrepreneurs Donny Beaver and John Lee. The team also includes Val Mignogna, who brings over 30 years of healthcare experience in the region and is currently President of the Altoona Area School District’s Board of Directors.

Together, they are on a mission to reshape the healthcare landscape by radically improving Medicaid health equity and offering unprecedented access to care.

Inspired by the memory of his mother, Gloria Gates, a single mom from a housing project who died too soon because of health inequity, Dr. Gates has dedicated his life to understanding the challenges individuals face while trying to navigate the complex Medicaid system. His commitment has culminated in the development of this groundbreaking model.

In addition, every person has their own personal CARE Advocate who helps them adhere to their medical plan, thus improving their health outcomes, as well as to make direct connections to crucial services such as food, housing, transportation, and more.
