There is good news for Medicaid recipients in Pennsylvania. Local physician Dr. Zane Gates has opened Gloria Gates CARE, a membership-based primary care organization. Named after Gates’ mother, he has a true passion for serving Medicaid patients and delivering quality CARE and coverage to all.

“We want to embrace them, serve them better than they were ever served,” said Val Mignogna, Gloria Gates CARE Senior Vice President for Clinical Operations. The facility is working to reshape Medicaid healthcare and provide its members with the compassionate CARE they deserve.

Gloria Gates CARE is providing members with access to a wide range of services without needing to get past “barriers,” including prior authorizations and interactions between Medicaid and service providers.

By covering the costs of common problems with recurring, predictable payments, many steps of the billing process are stripped away, Mignogna said.

Members are assigned a CARE advocate from Gloria Gates CARE who are there to assist and provide guidance throughout the entire process. CARE advocates also work with members to provide access to food, housing, and transportation to medical appointments.

This new model should also help hospital readmissions because post-discharge procedures will get proper attention. By providing preventative care, this system will also help familial issues – including financial issues and ease the mind of Medicaid patients.

Gates and his crew continue to be innovators in the Medicaid landscape and won’t stop until everyone is covered and provided with the quality CARE they deserve.
